Urge Maryland's Leaders to Act.

Maryland families deserve our support. The stronger the family, the stronger the community. At Our Maryland, we believe people should be able to take time away from work for major needs, like the birth of a child or a family member’s serious illness. And we know you believe it too.

Our families are too important not to protect them. Make your voice heard: Send a letter to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House NOW and ask them to commit to passing the Time to Care Act.

The Time to Care Act would establish a Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) program so employees may take up to 12 weeks of paid leave from work to care for the birth, adoption, or fostering of a child; to provide care to themselves or family members with serious health or medical conditions; or to address needs resulting from a military family member’s deployment.

While this legislation would support all Maryland families, it is our working mothers and Black and Latinx Marylanders who are disproportionately unable to take time off to care for themselves or family members. No one should have to choose between their job and caring for their family. Let's support all Marylanders and pass the Time to Care Act.
